1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Browsers also let a website keep small pieces of information on your device in other ways, known as local storage and session storage. This policy covers all of them. Where we say “cookies” below, we mean cookies and these similar technologies together, unless we say otherwise.

Under Article 22(2) of Spain’s Ley 34/2002 (the law on information society services) and the EU’s ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC), a website needs your consent before it stores information on your device, except where that storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. This policy explains which items this site uses and which of them depend on your consent.

2. Who we are

C. La Cruz, 108
38620 San Miguel de Abona
Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Spain

3. Items that do not need your consent

These items are strictly necessary for the site to work as you expect or to keep it secure, so they are used whatever you choose in the cookie banner.

Cookie consent tool

Our cookie banner is provided by the WPLP Cookie Consent plugin. It uses three cookies, all set by genai4biz.com:

  • wpl_user_preference – remembers the choices you make in the cookie banner. It is set as soon as you open the site, before you make any choice, with every optional category switched off, and it is updated when you make a choice. It lasts 12 months.
  • wpl_viewed_cookie – set once you have made a choice in the banner. It is part of how the tool records that choice. It lasts 12 months.
  • consent_version – set once you have made a choice in the banner. It is part of how the tool records that choice. It lasts 12 months.

These cookies exist only to remember and honour your consent choice.

Bot protection on the contact form (Cloudflare Turnstile)

The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a service that checks whether the form is being filled in by a person or by an automated program. When a page with the contact form opens, Turnstile runs in your browser and stores one item in your browser’s local storage, under Cloudflare’s own address (challenges.cloudflare.com):

  • cf.turnstile.u – local storage item set by Cloudflare. It is set when the contact form page opens, before and regardless of any choice you make in the cookie banner. When we tested it, Turnstile set no cookie.

Cloudflare describes the signals Turnstile uses as strictly necessary for the purpose of detecting and blocking bots. We therefore treat this item as strictly necessary security storage that protects the contact form you are using, which does not require your consent. Cloudflare does not publish what this item contains or how long it is kept, so we cannot state its lifetime. Cloudflare explains how it handles personal data in its own privacy policy:

https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

WordPress emoji test

  • wpEmojiSettingsSupports – session storage item set by WordPress itself on genai4biz.com. It records the result of a quick test of whether your browser can display certain emoji, so that the site does not repeat the test on every page. It is a technical item, not used for tracking, and it holds no personal data. Session storage lasts only for your browsing session.

4. Items that depend on your consent: analytics

These cookies are set by Google Analytics 4 only if you consent to analytics in the cookie banner. They help us understand how visitors use the site: which pages are viewed, for how long, and general navigation patterns. No analytics cookies are set until you actively consent.

  • _ga – set by genai4biz.com, with Google as our analytics provider. It is used to distinguish visitors. It lasts up to 2 years, which is Google’s default; some browsers limit how long cookies can last and may shorten this.
  • _ga_0FHDK0JKJH – set by genai4biz.com, with Google as our analytics provider. It is used to keep track of a visit (session state). Its name is ga followed by an identifier for this site’s Google Analytics property. It lasts up to 2 years, which is Google’s default; some browsers may shorten this.

The lifetime of these cookies in your browser is separate from how long Google Analytics keeps the data it collects. Google Analytics event data (individual interactions with the site) is kept for 2 months before automatic deletion. Google Analytics user-level data (data tied to a given visitor across sessions) is kept for 14 months before automatic deletion.

Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. Google’s own use of this data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy:

5. What we do not use

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies on this site.

6. Login cookies

WordPress sets login cookies only for people who log in to the administration area of this site. Ordinary visitors are not given them.

7. Managing or withdrawing your consent

You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking “Cookie Settings” in the footer of this website, which reopens the consent preferences panel. If you withdraw consent to analytics, we stop using analytics cookies from then on.

The cookie banner controls the items in Section 4. It does not control the items in Section 3, because they do not depend on your consent. You can also delete cookies and clear local and session storage at any time in your browser settings, or set your browser to block them.
